Our team

Our team consists of carefully selected professionals from various fields: educators, teachers, pedagogues, teachers of Serbian language and literature, philologists, historians, artists, information technology experts, writers and many others. Some of them have a PhD degree.

They stimulate students’ desire for knowledge and motivate them to achieve well-assessed, achievable goals in every lesson.

The joy of achieving a goal in every lesson boosts student’s self-confidence; they become more self-assured and are satisfied with their achievements.

Teachers also offer regular weekly consultations as one-to-one meetings with parents who would like additional advice.

The school has its own psychologist who is always on hand if needed.

Milutin Nikolić - Founder of the SAVA Online School of the Serbian Language, Culture and Tradition

Our aim is to gather all our people together, wherever they are, and not to let our children lose their identity and forget their origins. Our wish is to help all families in the diaspora with this unique school program that will enable our children to develop complete bilingualism and become fluent speakers of Serbian.

We want to help parents all over the world to share the wealth of the Serbian language, history and tradition with their children and teach them good values that they will one day pass on to their children.

Our students take bold steps to preserve their origins and heritage. They are the new generations who will tomorrow be responsible for preserving our rich language and glorious history.

All this sets our school apart from others. In addition to learning the language, we also develop the Serbian identity, culture and ethos. Come and see for yourself.

Welcome to our school!

Pride and Triumph of Serbian Education in the Diaspora

We are delighted to share the wonderful news that our founder, Milutin Nikolić, a visionary and tireless advocate for Serbian education, has played a pivotal role in establishing a new Serbian school in Chicago, modeled after the highly successful Private primary school "Zvezdobrojci".
This school is far more than just an educational institution – it is a sanctuary for children of Serbian heritage in the United States, where they will explore the richness of our language, history, and culture in an environment that fosters a deep connection to their roots.
Through innovative teaching methods, this school will serve as a cornerstone for preserving our national identity within the diaspora, offering children the invaluable opportunity to engage with their heritage in the most meaningful way.
We are truly grateful for this remarkable partnership, which will shape the future of Serbian children around the world. With great pride, we continue to strengthen the bonds between our diaspora and homeland, knowing that every effort to preserve our culture fortifies our global community.

Vjera Jelovac – School Principal

As a mother of two children, it was very important to me to be involved in creation of a high-quality educational platform that cultivates the Serbian language, culture and tradition. That is why I have enthusiastically supported the mission of our school from the very beginning.

I am convinced that education is the key to a better future, and I also believe that preserving our cultural identity is very important. Our dedicated, persistent and responsible team works every day to ensure that the Sava Online School is a place where children not only learn, but also appreciate and love the Serbian culture and tradition.

It gives me great pleasure to know how important our school has become for our students, how interwoven it is with their lives and how much they love our team and our friends from all over the world. This motivates us to keep moving forward and to do our work even better.
